Our students hit the ground running, shooting and editing films their first semester. Offering nearly two petabytes of storage, the Belmont media server and Avid Media Central make collaborating on films from anywhere easier, faster, and better than ever. If they have a computer and internet connection, students can login and control one of our 87 remote editing systems to run industry standard software like Avid Media Composer and Pro Tools. Motion Pictures is one of the first film departments in the world with Avid Media Central, which allows students to work on projects from nearly anywhere in the Continental U.S. Students also have access to a 50 seat theater / 7.1 mix stage, a 15 seat 7.1 mix stage, color correction suite, 4K edit bays, a 2,500 square foot sound stage and a Foley / ADR stage. We've got top of the line cameras, including the ARRI Alexa LF, superb lighting and grip gear. With a 250 seat theater / sound mixing stage, we're the world's only school whose students learn to mix in Dolby Atmos on a feature film sized mixing stage.

All our teachers are deeply interested in the students' learning and welfare and joy at being in a building full of people who want to make movies and television. There's no question a student can ask that we can't answer. Our faculty has all worked in the industry, many with 30+ years of experience. One of the great satisfactions in teaching is helping students discover what they are truly capable of and showing them they can do better than they ever dreamed.
